the question of whether knowledge of women in typographic history
can positively impact current graphic design gender equality.
“Breaking The Crystal Goblet” places emphasis on the typographic concepts put forward by notable design writer, Beatrice Warde, within her essay, ‘The Crystal Goblet’. Consisting of three concertina bound booklets, containing nine copies of The Crystal Goblet, each breaks a different typesetting rule as set out by Warde, allowing the audience to understand the value of her incredible design work.
